Having lived in London all my life (bar a few years spent in New York in 2000) I’ve come to know my favourite hangouts in this vibrant city. I have so many lovely requests from my instagram followers on where to go when visiting London, so I thought I’d share them all here with you. Whether you’re looking for a stunning location, buzzing energy or delicious food and fabulous cocktails, I’ve got it all here.. take a peek at my list below and hopefully I’ve got you covered.
Gyms / Workouts / Juices / Quick Pit-Stop / Refuel
My normal daily routine consists of dropping my boys to school and then going for a work out at Paola’s Body Barre – my absolute favourite body workout. The classes take place at various locations all around London, including Fulham which I tend to go to most. There are also various classes, including PBB at KXU which is an amazing gym in the heart of Sloane Square, so an easy and central stop on the way to a client meeting. I normally take water and a protein shake to fuel me!
Juice Baby (King’s Road) – favourites include the creamy cacao milk and the vanilla latte – these really fill you up post workout and pre-lunch. Their soups are always amazing too!
Good Life Eatery (Sloane Avenue) – my faves are the Choc Norris (which is like a meal in itself) or the Berry Sunrise – so delicious and made on the spot with all yummy fresh ingredients.
Ian Granger (Chelsea) – really delicious healthy food right next door to the gym. Great for a quick pit-stop and refuel.
The Wolseley – If i’m meeting a client for breakfast, a great place to go is The Wolseley located in the heard of Piccadilly. Its great for lunch and dinner too if your staying centrally and has a fabulous art deco design with super high ceilings – its definitely an impressive location.
Isabels, Mayfair – The décor is stunning and the food is delicious here – one of my absolute favourites to visit alongside the sister restaurant in Nottinghill named Casa Cruz. Fantastic atmosphere for both lunch and dinner and amazing cocktails – this is top of my list for a night out with friends. Book early as reservations go quickly.
Sexy Fish, Mayfair – For a really buzzing atmosphere Sexy Fish is loud and so fun! With sushi on the menu it’s great for a night out, and its’ super central.
Park Chinois, Mayfair – Decadent, delicious Chinese food – this place is great for something a bit different as you can find live cabaret and cocktails among the Burlesque themed environment!
Annabel’s, 5 Hertford Street – Annabels and No. 5 Hertford street are two fantastic only-members club, great for cocktails and dancing but you do need to go with a member so hook up with your London contacts and have fun.
Mr Chow, – fabulous, glamorous, old-school Chinese. You can’t go wrong here with the most delicious food and fantastic atmosphere!
Zuma, Knightsbridge – Delicious sushi and fantastic cocktails.
Monkey House, Mayfair – Such a fun place for post-dinner cocktails or an informal dinner. Very buzzing atmosphere – a great recommendation for a younger crowd. Maybe a bit too loud for me now, but so fun!
The Chiltern Firehouse, Marylebone – I think most of my friends and followers know this is my favourite hang-out in London; its my home away from home. I always have so much fun here. I love the restaurant and the bar is rocking and full of fabulous people. It’s also a hotel so if you’re visiting you can stay too (it would be my number one choice.) The Mixologist is so talented and the cocktails are delicious, you’ll find it hard to leave sober but you’ll doubtless be laughing…
Location – Notting Hill
The Electric – super fun hang out in Nottinghill and part of the Soho House Members group. Upstairs is the members section which sets a great vibe for dinner (and theres room for dancing on the top floor). Downstairs is super chilled and serves great food – they do a gorgeous brunch on a Sunday and an amazing bloody Mary to nurse any hangover!
Southam Street is super fun hangout – there’s 3 floors; 2 for dining and bar while the 3rd floor is a cosy bar with a pole that can inspire some fun if you feel like a bit of dancing after dinner (which can be hilarious). If not, the bars are lovely and cosy – good for a date night.
Pizza East – Fantastic pizza cooked in an old fashioned pizza oven with a great atmosphere. It’s also great for people watching too and can be fun dining on the terrace upstairs.
The Colbert – Love this cosy brasserie located in Sloane Square; delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere.
The Ivy – Beautiful setting in the summer with outdoor conservatory – perfect for a girls lunch.
Eight over Eight – great cocktails and delicious pan asian food. Their menu is beyond delicious and I love hanging out for a cosy night with friends. It’s located on the Kings Road, surrounded by plenty of bars and clubs so its’ a prime location and always fun.
Blakes Hotel – delicious food but even more fun downstairs for cocktails and DJ…
Daphne’s – great place for lunch – located on Draycott Avenue – it serves delicious, authentic Italian food and is one of my favourites.
The Cross Keys – For cosy pubs that accept doggies, The Cross Keys Chelsea is your place. Traditionally English with all the classics on offer, its’ perfect for stopping in before, after or mid-dog walk. Its quite easy to spend the whole afternoon here and soak up the atmosphere.
The Windsor Castle – just off Kensington Church Street – this is a v. old school pub and super fun in the summer for drinks at the back outside.
The Builders Arms – just off the Kings Road – cosy, fun and great food!
With all these places to go, I hope you can find somewhere that suits you and that I can be of some help in a city replete with options!
