Its so important to pieces together your outfits before you travel, especially if you know you are going to be on TV (yikes!!!) …. Lying all the options out on your bed and then piecing things together and trying things on is a must – I always take a couple of options for tops with one bottom (then you can decide on the day depening on the weather and your mood.
I managed to fill in the gaps in my wardrobe by doing a quick ASOS shop – such an amazing on line shop as you don’t have to spend a fortune and everything is current and on trend – so I tend to match an investment piece with a less expensive piece – like leather trousers (which I bought from ETOILE) matched with an Asos jumper and ankle boots from Giseppe Zanotti (spelling???) then you have a couple of high quality high value pieces matched with high street – super cool and not breaking the bank!! I would rather invest in the leathers and the boots than spend a fortune on a top I may only wear a few times.
Make sure you pack the staples – your go to favourite pieces – mine this season is a burgundy leather skirt, my rag and bone jeans, leather trousers and a couple of blouses that go with everything… then for the over the knee boots which are on trend and a couple of pairs of ankle boots – I love the black short ones and my fringed burgundy ones. Pack a pair of high heel pumps and some trainers for running around in!
I have packed lots of bodies as they are so useful and go with pretty much everything in lace, deep v, chocker neck – some black, red and nude so you can go from night to day just by changing your top!
A leather jacked is always a must and as its snowing in NY my gorgeous faux fur parker!
Hope you have found this helpful, its almost manic packing for a short trip but if you know the staples it makes it easier!
