Spring Home Hacks

I was hoping when I wrote this post I could say spring is finally in the air, but it has decided to snow in London and its gone to arctic temperatures again! I am still hopeful that after this cold spell we will be back on track and can appreciate the changing of the seasons.

With that in mind, I always like to do a little spring makeover at home, and I wanted to share a few simple and easy ways to give your home a fresh feel after the cold and dark winter months.

Flowers:

The house has been dressed with wintery flowers so its time to update them and get some fresh white, greens and yellows – it’s so easy to lift a room with a lovely flower display and doesn’t have to break the bank. I love cutting a few bunches of tulips, so the stalks are quite short and then putting them in a square vase, so they are really symmetrical – you can do one big one on the table and then dot a few more around in different colours, whites and yellows are the brightest.

Place Settings:

I put away my wicker place settings and get out my oatmeal linen place settings for dinner parties, white napkins and some lovely fresh spring candles.

Home Accessories:

An easy way to pretty up any room is to add some lovely candles, picture frames, glass boxes, rattan etc… here are a few of my favourites from the White Company:

Updating your spring bedroom…

There is nothing I like more than sleeping in some lovely new fresh white cotton sheets. My favourites are from the White Company – the quality is great, and the prices are good too, so it’s my go to!

A new quilt or bedspread is another easy way of changing up your room and I love this one with matching cushions

Cushions:

Another trick is to update your cushions – these are super fun for spring and add a bit of colour for spring:

Rugs:

Laying a rug in the kitchen, sitting room or bedroom can completely change the look and feel of a room – here are a few of my favourites:

Tie in the new rug with some new side lamps

Add some flowers and couple of photo frames and candles and you have given your room an uplift

Clear out all your clutter and put things away or chuck things out – its so therapeutic!
